Health, Cost of Living & Wellbeing
People across the community have approached the JCFT for advice having experienced some form of bullying behaviour in the workplace. This may be from colleagues or even those in management positions.
The JCFT decided to investigate this further to identify anonymously people’s experience of bullying in the workplace and how this has impacted them both personally and professionally. The following report shows the JCFT’s findings.
The cost-of-living crisis refers to a decrease in disposable income, which has been driven by inflation. Around 9 in 10 adults in Great Britain have reported that their cost of living has increased. This has led to a surge in support services and help from charities and organisations across the UK, which can help reduce the impacts on household struggles.
In this cost-of-living crisis, the JCFT is actively working to provide support to the local community. This document has been created as a guidebook and directory of all the different services available to you in your local community.
These services are free and accessible to all to help reduce the impacts of the cost of living as well as provide advice and support for other issues.

The Equality Act 2010 states women have the right to feed their babies in public spaces. Unfortunately, the UK still has one of the lowest rates of breast feeding in the world in the 21st century.
It is the 21st century and as mums, many have faced negative comments or been made to feel uncomfortable feeding our babies/ children in public spaces? How many of us as parents (mum’s and dad’s) have found it difficult on occasions to find somewhere to change your child when in our local parks and open spaces?
Speaking to mums and dads in our local areas, and around the country many have shared similar experiences. The JCFT decided to circulate a survey to parents across different parts of greater Manchester to gain a broad understanding of people’s experiences of breast and bottle feeding and changing their baby/child in public spaces, local parks and play areas in the future.
As you can see from the table below a different range of ages completed the survey from various places across the Greater Manchester area. Nicki Davis Report Author.
The rising cost of living expenses is a crisis that is hitting everyone. Everyday essentials such as heating costs, food and fuel are rising faster than average household incomes, forcing many people to make hard choices.
The JCFT think tank conducted an anonymous survey about the rise in the cost of living and how it is impacting our community.
Gambling & Addiction Harms
Many companies have some form of social betting events, such as raffles. However, with 24/7 access to the internet on both work and personal mobile devices, it’s challenging to monitor and control online gambling by employees. It can even be more challenging to draw the line between harmless fun and loss of company time and resources.
One in every hundred employees is believed to have a form of gambling challenge, and companies cannot assume that their staff will not be affected. Some staff may even use work on computers to gamble on, which exposes the network to security risks. If there are insufficient controls to identify and prevent workplace gambling, the issue can become a problem, not only for individual employees, but for the business as well.
The JCFT is currently working with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and various organisations around Manchester to highlight the issue of Gambling Harms across our community.
We compiled a short anonymous, multiple-choice survey to identify across our local community how many people are affected or affected by others gambling and if there are gaps in provisions where information sharing and support services need to be implemented to meet the local community’s needs.
Safety & Antisemitism
The JCFT decided to conduct a survey to identify how people feel regarding their personal safety.
The report looks at how safe people feel in different scenarios and, how they feel they can be improved.
The survey asks questions for each gender as identified at birth to enable us to collect statistics to identify how a person’s gender affects how they feel regarding their personal safety.
